We Did A Thing... (Thank You!)

So Adam and I did a thing these past few weeks. After rushing around, making last minute phone calls, getting tons of boxes and tape, and "Okaying" it with work to get time off, we have officially moved in to our new and improved home.

I'm talking two floors, two bathrooms, an office for my writing and his music lessons, neighbors who do give a care, and locked mailboxes. THANK YOU, GOD! *Cue fireworks, applause, and Maroon 5*

"Maroon 5?" - Adam

"Yeah, they throw some really good parties..." - Melanie

If you know anything about me, you'll know I am borderline clean freak. Okay, so not really... But if I see dirt, I clean it. And Adam? As far as he goes, he goes by that all too commonly known saying "Happy wife, happy life". It was a crazy past two weeks leading up to the move, and I'm not gonna lie, I cried more times than I would care to admit. Moving is hard and all the details that come with it are way too complicated. Why? Why is that?

All this is to say that this is why I haven't blogged in a few weeks. Since the move, both Adam and I have been able to breathe. We have found peace in knowing that we have a nice home where we won't hear weird noises at night (minus the mooing in the field across the road), we have a big kitchen where I can finally make my man some good home cooked meals, and we have the space to have friends and family swing by for a leisurely meal, fellowship, and board games. It is the home we have wanted since before we got married. And we finally got it!

Our schedules are still busy and we do get overwhelmed with life here and there, but we are learning that it's okay to be busy and still have those responsibilities that always seem to crush in on you. They're not stopping us. We're still falling in love. We're still staying strong. And we are going to still keep doing what we do and pursue our dreams.

I do want to give a big shout out to everyone who responded to my survey and flooded my inbox with awesome questions and encouragement; not to mention the subscribers, too. Each and everyone of you are awesome and I feel so encouraged by the love I received! I was nervous about starting a blog and now I'm not so much nervous as I am excited to share my voice, pour encouragement into you, and to share my story so that you know those crazy things you face in your life, those moments where you feel alone or don't have anyone to talk to - you're not alone. I might not have all the answers but I do know a lot more than I did when I first met Adam. I'm also not claiming to be a "guru" but rather someone who shares and listens. So again, thank you and stay tuned as I respond to some of your questions in the next post.

More to come!
